Job Description

Deliver Multi Media port presentations for the Cunard brand in order to raise spontaneous customer awareness and motivate purchase decisions.

To work as part of the shore excursion team with the primary goal of supporting sales, administration and guest enquiries.

Research the facilities and tourist attractions at each port-of-call and make appropriate arrangements to allow independent guests to make reasonable use of their time ashore.
Principal Functions

Main Activities and Responsibilities

Customer Responsibilities (Internal & External Customers)

Produce, maintain and develop Multi Media presentations supported by broadcast commentaries lasting approximately 45 minutes for each port-of-call.

To travel as a Cunard representative/escort on excursions to enhance photographic coverage of the ports-of-call and ones own knowledge.

To interact with guests during escort duties and promote future shore excursion sales.

To assist in portside mustering, despatch and desk cover for shore excursions when directed by the Shore Excursion Manager.

To ensure guest satisfaction, informally talk about points of interest and answer specific queries during question and answer sessions when directed by the Shore Excursion Manager.

To act as the on board point of reference for guests regarding the accuracy of Port Guides. Report necessary amendments/feedback to the Shore Excursion Communications Assistant.

Establish and maintain contact with local tourist boards and source images to enhance vessel calls.

To talk to guests informally at guest functions about other Cunard destinations of which one has experience so as to encourage thoughts for future voyages.

To occasionally undertake bridge talks when requested for transits or sail-in/out of ports where the Port Presenter has reasonable knowledge of the destination/area.


To ensure intense sales support for weak selling shore excursions and announce closing times of bookings when directed by the Shore Excursion Manager.

Administration Responsibilities

Maintain a contemporary, up to date and accessible library of images and travel publications for research and use on board ships.

Service Levels

Monitor quality standards and complete required assessments on shore excursions during escort duties.

Aim to deal with all communication within three working days of receipt.


Develop an understanding of the environmental and eco-cultural effects of the shore excursion operations at each destination.

Degree of supervision

Reports to the Shore Excursion Manager.

Able to work without close supervision.

General Responsibilities

Adheres to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, Audit Procedures and any control related responsibility for financial data entered, stored, or reported via business systems within employees control (list not exhaustive).

To undertake ad hoc duties as required.
